¡Hola y Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Week of 9/3/14
We are off to a great start in Spanish this year! Students are learning and speaking in Spanish every day in class. I hope you are hearing them speak at home. Students began the year with organizing their notebooks and writing in their planners. If you want to see what they are doing in class, check those two items.
Students are learning about 'la fecha' (the date) which includes numbers, days and months.
They have been doing a great deal of partner practice speaking in the language and 'gesturing' many of the vocabulary words and concepts. The focus is on Commands and Classroom objects.
Students are welcome and even encouraged to take photos in class daily for I have tons of visual aids in the room. I require they ask for permission first, take the photo(s) and then put phone away. They are always welcome to take photos as they enter and exit the classroom.
I'm so proud of how they are speaking in class every day. Practice is what will build their confidence and communication skills. Our first speaking/writing performance major checks are next Wednesday and Thursday (9/10 and 9/11).
Please check Skyward often for grade updates and thank you for sending me such wonderful people to work with every day! --Sra. Parr
